Our Precious Salvation

Every believer should be grateful for the fact that our salvation was received by God’s complete provision. Not that we worked for it. It is by the grace of God. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Eph.2:8-9). All we have to say is Glory be to God. Hear the way the Scriptures described the Salvation, “Blessed be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” (1 Peter1:3-5). The salvation that has made us to have an inheritance that is incorruptible, undefiled, that does not fade away and reserved in heaven for us that are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation. What else can one ask for? We are sure of God’s love here on earth now, and in eternity. (Praise the Lord). Glory be to God for He “Who had saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began” (2 Tim.1:9). The Salvation we have gotten is so precious to the extent that the Bible says, “There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit” (Rom.8:1). Referring to the Holy Spirit by which we were sealed when we believed Jesus Christ as our saviour and then made Him our Lord. Brethren, having known how precious the Salvation we have received is, it will not be wise for us to abuse or toy with it. Let us cherish and handle it with care. Someone, the person of our Lord Jesus Christ, paid for the gift on the cross of Calvary. We should continually show gratitude and be thankful to God by walking in the Spirit and not in the flesh. The scripture says, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh” (Gal.5:16) Walking in the spirit means relying on God’s power in all aspects of one’s life. It means living in obedience to the laws and commandments of God which the Spirit brings to one’s remembrance. It means trusting God. Above all, it means to walk away from selfish desires that are in opposition to the commandments of God, which the scripture refers to as the flesh and commonly called Sin. For us to truly show how distinct, how valuable and how precious the salvation that we have received by God’s provision is, we must let the Holy Spirit lead us to obey God’s commandments and be guided by the truth of the Bible. We must work out the salvation with fear and trembling. The word of God says, “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Phill.2:12-13). Evangelism: If we so much cherish our salvation, let us tell others that are yet to receive theirs. Tell them how precious the salvation is, so they can also be partakers of the Salvation. Rev.
