Jesus Christ our perfect example

Jesus Christ is the perfect example and model of what He teaches. The one who has all the authority of God the Father, whose name is above every other name and who despite being in form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God. He is truly a perfect example. A perfect example of an excellent follower and a perfect example of an excellent leader. Jesus expressed perfect example through His love, humility and obedience expressed in laying down His life for the sin of mankind. Not that anyone takes it from Him. He willingly died for the sin of man because of His immeasurable love for mankind and in obedience to the will of His father. He became the door that whosoever enters it will be save, and be able to go in and out to find pasture. It means, whosoever that is under His care is free from the bondage of the devil. (John.10:9-18) He received all the authority both in heaven and on earth as a result of His perfect obedience. (Matt.28:18) He did not lord His authority over others. Since no one except Him has seen God at any time (John.1:18) He remains the authority to speak on behalf of God. But He did not speak on His own authority, but speaks according to the commandment of the Father of what to say. (John.12:49) Following His exemplary humility, God highly exalted Him, and gave Him the name which is above every name. To the extent that, at the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those under the earth. Not only that, every tongue should confess also, that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. (Phil.2:9-10) Jesus’ name is not only above all other names, His name is far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come. It didn’t stop there, God the Father put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the Church (Eph.1:21-22) This a clarion call to every one of us. Let us begin to imitate the perfect example of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let the followers as bondservants, be obedient with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ. Let the masters stop threatening the followers, but to deal with them with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, knowing that the real Master is in heaven and there is no partiality with Him. (Eph.6:5_9) Evangelism Tell someone to come to Jesus Christ today and be set free from bondage. A life without Christ, is a life that is full of crisis. Rev. Shobayo Kayode The Gospel Study Centre
