Everyone including the people of God are getting weary due to the mounting pressure on cost of living, lack of security and everything that is negatively affecting good living across the world and our own dear country, Nigeria. As people of God, we should believe that God is aware of every situation regarding our lives. Nothing is hidden from Him. It will be wrong to think He is unconcerned. In the actual fact, everything is under His control. All we have to do at this time is to trust Him more than ever before. Trust His promises as revealed in His words. The scripture says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding” (Prov.3:5) Trusting Him means acknowledging Him as the all-knowing God, relying and believing all His promises, and having unwavering faith in Him. Regarding His promises, God is not a man, that He should lie. (Num.23:19) He is able to make all grace abound towards me and you, that we will always have all sufficiency in all things. He is sufficient enough to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Brethren, this is not the time to engage in curses and abuses. It is time to trust God, time to know Him intimately and trust His wisdom and knowledge. Through His wisdom and knowledge, it is reliably possible to receive fresh ideas on how one can do things differently to overcome the present challenges. The Bible says if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God and it will be given to Him. (James.1:5) His wisdom will give the ability to review one’s life style and be able to apply one’s knowledge and make required adjustments that will improve one’s life situation. It is important also to patiently wait for better situation to come after the application of God’s wisdom. When we trust God, His Spirit in us will guide and direct our ways. He will help our faith to produce patient that we may be perfect in waiting. Therefore, this is the time to believe and trust God and His promises in His word. God is true to His promises and His promises are sure. In this troubled time, He says, “I will not leave you nor forsake you” (Heb.13:5) Let us trust him that in all this turbulent period, He is with us. Let us trust the assurance of His plan for us. He says, “I know the plan I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future” (Jer.29:11) Remember He intervened concerning similar famine in Samaria. (2 Kings.7:3-20) He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He will surely intervene concerning our situation in Jesus mighty name. Let us focus our efforts and energy on trusting Him more and more. Be assured that he will always keep His promise. The Bible says, “Blessed is the man who trust in the Lord, and whose hope is in the Lord.” (Jer.17:7,8) The scripture concluded that such man will always be sustained to the extent that he will not fear nor worry during the time of trouble. This is time to seek and trust God the more. Evangelism This is time to tell more people that Jesus is willing, ready and waiting to save them. Rev. Shobayo Kayode The Gospel Study Centre
