This is the time for true follower of Christ to start getting ready to meet Him when He comes back again. His coming back is not to die for sinners again, but He is coming to reward everyone accordingly. Jesus affirmed the fact Himself. He says, “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.” (Matt.16:27) While explaining to His disciples why He has to go and come back, He says, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” (John.14:3) He is coming back to take His own to Himself and be together with them forever. In addition to Jesus’s affirmation, two men in white robe (presumed to be angels) who appeared to the disciples of Jesus Christ also prophesied the coming back of Jesus Christ by their word, “This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts.1:11) One can go on and on with the biblical facts of the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The question is, do we all believe the truth? I assume we all know the answer. But we should all believe the truth, so we do not be like the scoffers who were saying “Where is the promised of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” (2 Peter.3:4) If we fail to believe that He is coming back, it will be difficult for us to prepare for His coming. We should not be like the scoffers who did not believe because they were walking according to their lust. (2 Peter.3:3). And that is who some of us are, walking according to our lust with strong doubt of His second coming. About the timing, Jesus Christ says, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only” (Matt.24:36) Apostle Paul corroborated the fact when he says, the day of the Lord so come as a thief in the night. (1 Thess.5:2) The information is to help believers keep on preparing and be on guard for the Day which is only known to God the Father. We should not be asleep like others. Apostle Peter while exhorting his listeners, reminded them of the time of Noah and how those who refused to prepare for the coming of the flood perished in the flood. (2 Peter.3:5-6) The current call of the second coming of Jesus Christ must not be taken for granted. In as much as the day seems not coming, the Lord is only being patient towards His people because He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter.3:9) Brethren, let us be patient until the coming of the Lord, the same way farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and waiting patiently until it receives the early and the latter rain. The provision of the rain and the growth of fruit is beyond what the farmer can do on his own, all he can do is to anticipate and wait. In the same manner, believers should be eager and wait patiently for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Believers in waiting should devout him or herself to the pursuit of intimacy with God. Seek Him with all his or her heart and soul. Earnestly pursuit the goal of the heavenly call of God in holiness, righteousness and purity that come only through faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke.21:36) Let us continue to press forward towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Ask yourself, what if Jesus Christ come back now? Now is the time to prepare. His coming is imminent. May we not miss the goal for the prize of the heavenly journey in Jesus gracious name. Amen Evangelism Jesus Christ is definitely coming back. This is the time to prepare for the reward of His second coming. Give your life to Him and start the heavenly journey. Rev.
