Findings have shown that human wants change over time based on experiences, societal changes and changes in value. The findings rightly proved also that human nature is insatiable to the extent that once a need is met, new want is desired. In that regard, the insatiable attitude of man among many reasons can be because of comparing oneself with others or responding to the societal norms and values that often influence man's desire. However, the finding is the position of someone who put his trust in himself and rely on worldly perspectives. One who has not committed his way to the Lord. Prophet Habakkuk was told to wait for the appointed time and was also assured that the vision will surely come, even though it tarries. (Habakkuk.2:3) The vision did come. A man may desire something that is great to him, but he must first commit that desire to God who brings desire to fulfilment according to His will and timing. The word of God says, “Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass." (Psalm. 37:5) It is not a sin to desire and anticipate the good things of life, including the desire for the fruit of the womb and many other similar wants, because the word of God says those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing. The word of God is a promise of His provision to those who put their trust in Him. Desiring and anticipating good things without God's input is where the danger lies. This is because man is not sufficient in his desire without God's input. The Bible says, "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise. (Prov. 12:15) Therefore, believer's desire should be guided by the Spirit of God who is sufficient to direct man's efforts before, during and after. Apostle Paul says, "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God." (2 Cor.3:5) We should wait for the appointed time of God, even when it appears result is not forthcoming after all appropriate human efforts have been exhausted. To wait for it, is to put one’s trust in the Lord and believing that He will make things that have refused to work after all fruitless human efforts to work. It is fixing one's focus on God and depending on His will without passively giving Him timeline. It is to hopefully trust that God will act in the best way. The word of God says, "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is in the Lord." (Jer.17:7) Waiting become challenging, when one shifts focus from God and begin to seek human sympathy. When one begins to compare oneself with others or begins to respond to the societal norms and values which gradually diminishes believe and trust. But if one remains resolute and not tired of waiting on Jesus Christ, who is the Alpha and the Omega, the One that knows the ending from the beginning, He will provide the inner strength to wait until His will is fulfilled. "The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. (Lam.3:25) says the word of God, therefore one should not be tired of waiting. The waiting shall not be in vain; the expectation shall come to pass. God has promised to supply all need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Phil.4:19) To anyone and everyone who is currently waiting on the Lord for one thing or the other, the word of assurance says, though it tarries, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Evangelism Jesus Christ is the Alpha and the Omega, the One that knows the ending from the beginning. He knows everything about your situation. Accepting Him as your Lord and Saviour. He is waiting for you. Rev. Shobayo Kayode The Gospel Study Centre
